The beautiful village of Anstey is nestled in the rolling green hills of the Leicestershire countryside.  It’s picturesque streets and nearby open countryside provide such a strong sense of rural charm that it’s easy to forget the city of Leicester is just four miles away.  With such fantastic connections, Anstey finds the ideal balance between country and city life.

If you like to keep active, Anstey boasts three recreation grounds which between them provide playgrounds, sports courts and sports pitches.  Local rugby, football and cricket clubs offer an excellent way to get involved with this welcoming community, while nearby open space is also in abundance.  The village is often referred to as ‘The Gateway to Charnwood Forest’, a spectacular area of picturesque upland that spreads out to the north west.  This rugged landscape includes the ancient Bradgate Park and expansive Cropston Reservoir which form the perfect place to escape the trappings of busy modern life.

For something a little livelier, Anstey enjoys excellent connections to the city of Leicester and beyond.  Just a 10 minute drive away is one of the UK’s largest retail parks, Fosse Park, which plays home to a wide selection of high street names.  Alternatively, it takes less than 10 minutes by road to travel into the city centre where you are spoilt for choice when it comes to shopping, socialising and entertainment.  There are regular buses from Anstey into the local Beaumont Shopping Centre and the city, with the Leicester bypass a very short journey away, the national motorway network is within easy reach.  Finally, air travel is also accessible with East Midlands airport just 20 minutes way offering non-stop flights to 65 European cities.
